I have officially completed my third week of Kindergarten homeschooling! Whoop Whoop! I am so excited and proud of my daughter. She has learned so much in such a short time and I’m motivated and inspired to keep going on this journey. In future posts, I will be sharing specific details about what she’s learning and the specific materials I’m using. Now that we’ve found our groove, I wanted to share our current Kindergarten home school daily schedule. This is the schedule we typically follow each day. I thought this might be helpful for parents who are still trying to get a system going. Trust me, this process takes time, and there are days we don’t quite get there. Take a look:
7:30 – 8:00am – Wake Up
8:00-9:00am – Breakfast
9:00 – 10:30am – Free Time
10:30 am – Start the school day: Prayer, Day of the Week, Month/Year, Date, Weather
11:00 am – Begin specific subjects. On Monday and Wednesday we complete Bible, Spelling, Writing, Reading. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we complete Writing, Math, Science, Reading.
I typically give my daughter a snack around 11:50am while she is working on a craft, and then we finish up lessons at approximately 1:30pm. This kindergarten home school daily schedule works well for our family, and I hope this layout shows you that you don’t have to be extremely structured. Actually, homeschooling gives you the freedom to customize, so take the opportunity to do just that!
